I only mentioned the circuit breaker so we would know if the battery was being charged when it does run.
DreadOne... if the circuit breaker is poped, the charging system no longer charges the battery. So at that point, the bike is running everything on the battery, the headlight, ignition, ehc, coil, tails & turns... that drains the battery and then you have battery problems.
You guys kill me! :lol::lol::lol::lol:....
I "AGREE" with what you are both saying! :2thumbs:
But what you're both not getting here is, the owner states the following symptoms:
"Have 04 big dog chopper that quits, lights out, speedo out, after on the road for 10 miles. The key seems to be dead however, the relay by the battery clicks like it should, however no lights on EHC."
So if the bike stalls, why won't it instantly restart or light up the lights?
a) Low or dead battery? Sure
b) Problem in the Key Switch? Sure
c) Problem in the wiring harness, shorting things out? Sure
d) Problem with the "JST" or "D" connector on the EHC? Sure
e) Problem inside of the EHC? Sure
But to have any of the previous issue in direct correlation with the 2nd part of his statement of the failure:
"Let it sit a few minutes, turn key back on and everything fires up, go another 2 miles and lights out again."
a) Low or dead battery? Nope! :nono:
(Cooling wouldn't have any affect on "when" you could crank up! It just wouldn't start or even crank possibly, period!)
b) Problem in the Key Switch? Sure
c) Problem in the wiring harness, shorting things out? Sure
d) Problem with the "JST" or "D" connector on the EHC? Sure
e) Problem inside of the EHC? Sure
I think that things were just a little misinterpreted here.
Sorry!
We're all good! :2thumbs:
