Ha ha, I have that problem also.Live and learn.........Been doing it for 50 years. Now if I can just keep from forgeting what I've learned.
Ok don't know if it's just the town I live in or what, but I went to 4 yes 4 auto parts stores yesterday and no one had this tool. I was actually surprised my small town had 4 auto parts stores, Advance, Checker, Napa, Auto Zone.Available at any auto store!
Sorry you had a hard time. Check with Nelson for replacement connectors.
Sissy bar install - HOTROD Biker
Sometimes those garage made tools work better than the real things.I know I kep tellin my wife that i had seen it on one of the stores here in town. I noticed it after I had paid the $17 for the BDM part which by the way does not fit the small connectors on your bike. So after driving to 4 different stores I gave up and made my own small connector remover with a piece of spring steel wire and a file. I will pick one up along the way the next time I run across one.
Sorry for my delay on all of that....Gas.......From the close up diagram you posted showing the connector, now I can see why I was having so much trouble. Wasn't pushing in the right place. Now it looks pretty simple. I was trying to push it straight out. Had my glasses on but couldn't see it very well. Just another reason getting old sucks. Sure could have used the close up diagram two days ago. One day somebody will be looking for a thread on how to do it and they'll read this thread. I'll take this one for the team. See.....everything happens for a reason. :bang:
