Oil pressure gauge question

I just ordered a Arlen Ness oil pressure gauge (head mount) and I was going to remove the original sender unit. Are there any issues (electrical / electronic) in removing this sender unit?
ThanX for the assist!

I agree with these guys, no need to remove the original sender unless it's an aesthetic issue.

If you look in the reflection of the cam cover you can see the adapter and elbow that is used :D

I am pretty sure if you disconnect your oil sending unit, you will get your red light at speedo telling you that you have low or no oil pressure, I am sure there is a way around this, but I think everyone leave there sending unit and installs the gauge separate, it nice to have light and gauge has backup. you can get a fixing most likely at any cycle shop where you can screw in oil sending unit and your gauge if you want same hole.

I saw a picture a while back where a guy installed a fitting where the sending unit is and mounted the sending unit on top of this fitting. That way he also would have the gauge as well as the light. Using the tappet screen hole is a lot easier and you still have both as well.

Personally I would never run my bike without the idiot lite. I also don't want it on top of the tappet screen that I pull and clean all the time. I just use the common fitting that allows you to run both. Remember to keep it away from your exhaust pipe, many have melted them.

ThanX for the info I will look into the fitting. I was thinking about using the tappet location but I will have to see how the line will run up to th gauge that will be mounetd to the rop of the motor. I have this set up on my Harley and the gage works great! Unfortunate this set up is so expensive but Arlen and Kory need a new Benz :2thumbs:
I will post pictures when installed
