i have been trying to start it for like 2 weeks
Hopefully you have that battery on a tender. It won't last long attempting to start that motor.

I would pull the air cleaner, put new plugs in it and verify you are getting spark and then try starting it. Remember to keep the throttle shut when starting and don't give it any twists of the throttle. If it attempts to start or trys to catch then maybe another shot of fuel but don't flood it out.

Sounds like you really need some carb adjustments.

Let us know how it goes.

I have spark and the carb never had any issues before I put the wireplus kit in. I'm at a loss. Very annoying. I've checked everything. Thanks for your help....

Seems like there is quite of numbers out there with this issue (including myself) I am checking the TH tomorrow, I need to upgrade.... One question here is: where is the crank sensor? Pics would be helpful...:confused::damnit:

A WP will only fix an EHC problem, nothing else. If the bike has a problem with the cam sensor, ignition module, coil, etc. it'll still have to be fixed whether it's done before or after the WP mod... an upgrade to the ignition module will only fix the problem if the one currently in the bike is bad. If the bike ran before the WP but doesn't after the mod you need to recheck your installation!

The '04 has a cam sensor which is under the cover next to your right ankle. :D

Your bike I don't believe has a crank sensor. Your igntion pickup is in the camshaft cover nose cone.

Correct me if I be wrong ya'll :D

I thought there was a thread that said not to use the run button while starting with the WP upgrade. Just turn the key on and hit start button.

This is true. The only time I use the run button is when I kill the motor and want to start it back up without cycling the key switch again. Then, you'll need to push the run botton prior to starting.

Well, bought the ASM 5012 and now looking for the crank sensor for the bike... It recommends the 32707-01... Completely different than what is on the bike... I may have just found a dead end for me... the bike may just go to the pound to get it started...:bang:

My 2 cents if nobody here has mentioned it. If your cam sensor (correct me if I am wrong) is the problem try to start it with the cover plate off run a hot hair dryer over the cam sensor if the bike quits "cam sensor"
2. best thing to tell you guys and I am no expert all the guys helping you have helped me. Start with 1 thing first and work back. it can be very frustrating but I would check the WP install and make sure you nailed the install on that before moving on.. just trying to help

As I've already mentioned several times you don't have a crank sensor! I'm not sure the block on your engine would even accept one or that you have the right flywheel for it to work...

You can, however, do a little checking to see if your CAM sensor is good. I've posted this numerous times but here it is again:

1. Disconnect the cam sensor from the ignition module.
2. Take out your trusty multimeter and set it to the RX1 scale.
3. Now while touching the sensor backing plate with the negative meter lead touch the positive meter lead on each of the three wires of the sensor connector (red, black, & green). If you get continuity from the backing plate to any of them the sensor is bad.

If it passes the first test...
1. With your meter still at the same settings touch the positive meter lead to the green wire and the negative meter lead to the black wire. If you get an "open" it's good. (Any resistance is "bad)
2. Then take the positive meter lead and touch the black sensor wire while touching the negative meter lead to the green wire. In this case an "open" is bad. A reading somewhere around 300 - 750 Kohms is what you're looking for.

So what values did you get in each step?
