Has any one had this problem 04 Bulldog Missing At about 70 Mph or 2500 Rpms Idles great Will run like a bat out of hell just does not Like 70 mph installed new plugs no change Thanks Donny:angry::angry:

2004..thats not EFI is it?
You are sure it's in the motor and not in the drive train?

well for the heck of it you can test for intake leak. If it's running very lean from taking in air past the intake seals, it could cause it to act up while going down the highway at a constant RPM. Have you looked at or done anything else besides plugs?

A read several post that does not allow enough flow around the 70'mph mark causing it to cut out. Tha fix was facing it up try that or put your old breather on for a test ride it would at least rule that out.

You may have picked up some dirt in the jets.Some guys have had problems with their spiked filters pointing forward,I have an 04 with it forward and do not have any issues.With the mastiff and the tank is to wide to run the filter facing upward..just sayn might be dirt in the jets it's happened to me.good luck

No problem. I for sure could be wrong. Just throwing out some ideas. And that is a simple one to check.

I had a similar situation where the bike would essentially "sneeze" through the carb at those same parameters. I was originally thinking I might need an intermediate jet change but a carb adjustment did the trick for me. Just a thought ? Keep us posted.

Yes, it could be the Air/fuel screw. They do tend to wear out after time and should be replaced if any slight grove is on the needle. Also can check to make sure the accelerator pump is working, not plugged and has a nice fan type spray into the carb, not a drip or stream.

Did you remove the vent screw out of the carb when you installed the new filter? I had the same problem until I went back and found the vent screw was still installed. I removed it no more coughing or bogging down at about 70-80 mph.

At that speed you are getting maximum air flow into the carb. You are also right at the upper end of your int jet before the main takes over. Sounds like to me you are leaning out right before your main kicks in. I had the exact same problem with my 04 107". Went up on int and main and all was fine. I wound up with a 35-82 combination. Hope this helps!

I would be willing to bet money it's the D&M spike intake. had the same problem with my bike. i changed the intake to a dual runner, the problem went away
