I would like to install a mini oil pressure gauge on my 07 Bulldog right onto the engine using 1/8"NPT thread fittings. I want a gauge for doing oil changes. Do I need to Tee off the gauge and oil pressure switch which is my last choice, or is there another oil galley port at the top of the oil block. If there "is" a plugged off port, exactly where is the port located and how is it plugged now. Thanks!

you can get an oil gauge setup from vickie(pink chopper) or possibly some of the others here. It will have everything you need I believe. here is a picture from 05chop's bike with the oil gauge, maybe this will help you see where most of the guys put this gauge.

There is a plug (looks like a large screwdriver slot)where the oil screen for the upper end of the eng is located you can put one there. All you need is an adaptor with an "O" ring seal to go into the eng and an elbow to adapt the gauge. Got mine from J&P Cycles.. (before i knew about BDB)I'm sure one of our retailers have them..

Autometer gauges are the best -- I tried a few other brands and they all bounced. I found it was much easier to install it in the tappet screen with a 45 degree 1/8" thread. This leaves the factory pressure switch alone and you avoid getting to close to your exhaust.

yes, all of our dogs use the exact same motor. at least so far, some of the 05 and older used a 107"

Thanks, I went out to Drag Specialties and found everything I need, so I'm good to go! Autometer gauge and both fittings.

Is the Auto meter Gauge oil filled? Can't tell from the Pic. You want oil filled due to the vibration..

Yeah - It's not oil filled, I'll find one that is. It say's in the instructions for low vibration non-engine mounting use. Thanks!

I like that Black Auto Meter gauge that Gas Man uses in the how do thread. Looks like something I also would like to do.
Thanks to all

The Black faced autometer that I have is oil filled and looks like (font, needle and all) our speedos.

Things to watch for.

Get oil filled
Try to get one WITHOUT the rubber plug. They are known to burn out or just pop out like my first sifton one did. Sifton USE to be made in the USA but are now china junk and mine was as I spoke about in my thread Dave linked.

But as I said... poof it was gone.. the filled oil in the gauge leaking all over my motor
