Well that's good to know! I just assumed that's what was wrong when after I replaced the base gaskets on the cylinders and I assembled everything I put a lot of diletic grease on all the connenctions, the bike would cut out and die, so I cleaned all the connections and it fired right up! I did charge the battery and noticed that when I put my multi=meter on the battery while it was running to see if it was overcharging, when I reved it up the reading was the same, 12.6 volts, before it would go up to 14.5 or so and stop! So maybe what was really happening was just a bad VR and the bike was dieing because of low voltage from the battery and it eventually just burned up!
