Yes it was the old ehc pin 37 was no longer reading to the other groung pins.Did you figure out what the problem was with the ground going to the Ignition module and remove the extra ground you added?
So it was the EHC and not the wiring harness?Yes it was the old ehc pin 37 was no longer reading to the other groung pins.
AH back home, much easier than on my phone. Still don't think the external ground wire had anything to do with the new ehc going bad? At least I hope not!!! Maybe the old ignition module? Works sometimes, sometimes not? The new ignition system will also have a external ground. It gets mounted in the nose cone of the motor. Nothing I can do now but wait for more parts. So it was the EHC and not the wiring harness?
If the old one was mounted on the rear fender, will you have to add wire to the harness for it to mount in the nose cone?AH back home, much easier than on my phone. Yes I ask for a wiring Dia. from Curtis, he said it comes with one. Haven't got it yet. Not sure until then. I believe it will be like my Crane HI-4 that I put on my Harley. It's be on for years. If the old one was mounted on the rear fender, will you have to add wire to the harness for it to mount in the nose cone?
Tom @ground pounder has one in his spare parts hoard, maybe he can measure it for you if he can figure out how to read his meter. LolHm, we´ll find it not out exact. There are only some speculations include my own. Hope to get your bike back on the road soon
However does somebody know if the ignition coil of the EFI version have the same resistance like the coil in the cabureted version? I know from Harley bikes that some injected bikes have a lower resistance what drives more curent through the control box. What about the S&S?
Thanks a lot!
All the best!

I have one and will check it when I get homeHi Todd,
Thanks for the infos. Yes, in a home are different requirements where the cables are somewhere going through a tube in a wall without cooling air around or fixed with nails on wood (...)
I have looked to the link from Curtis. The coil resistance is 3 Ohm, what shouldn´t be a problem, cause it drives just 4 Ampere and the EHC can drive more than 10 Ampere without problems. The current will go down when the engine is running. So, from my opinion there is no need for an additional relay. However, the contacts of the 50 pin are rated between 5 and 7 Ampere depending of the brand of the d-sub and their measuring methode and the ignition 12 V is splitted in pin 13 and 14.
I´ll implement the new software in the new 2004 EHC as well. I have overworked the 2004 board due to some suggestions from Curtis (mainly the connector position, what was not perfect in the first version) and still wait for the pcb´s.
By the way, does somebody know the resistances of the 2 resistors what are mounted in the Big Dog Efi Kit WP383?
http://www.wire-plus.com/WP383--BIG-DOG-EFI-KIT_p_152.html
It´s connected to switched 12 Volt and to the 2 bridges from the EFI to the Low Fuel and Service Engine (whatever it mean...) led´s. Thanks a lot!
All the best!

Todd do you think with the extra ground wire that maybe have created a Phased Locked Loop?Including Axel's Four now. Different problems first two, bike would not pass the power up test sometimes. last two no spark.
Only added extra ground this year. When bike hade no spark. What is a Phased Locked Loop? Anyway got all the parts now. Need to find the time to work on the bike.Todd do you think with the extra ground wire that maybe have created a Phased Locked Loop?
