Running rich

What exhaust and air intake do you have?
It will range from 31 inter and 76 main to 32 inter and 78main, I personally am running 33 inter and 78 main with 585, dual runner air filter and Big radius pipes and timing at 30*BTC

sorry it's takin so lone to respond. I changed it to a 33 an no big cloud of black smoke. Rev's up good. Going to take her out tomorrow an see how she run's.

According to the S&S nfo, you can minimize the decel pop by running a bit fat on the carb settings, so yeah, they can run a bit rich. Not black plugs rich tho. Keep tweaking and you will find your happy spot.

Like it has been said before the plugs should look golden brown with a properly tuned carb. Tune the carb and make sure that is all right with the jets you have in it, ride for about 20-30 miles, pull the plugs and see what you got. It took me 3 sets of plugs to get mine tuned right. If you have a 107 CI engine the S&S website indicates a good properly tuned carb will have some decel pop.

Once you go on your ride pull the plugs and take a picture of them and post them. There are many folks on here that can tell you what to do just by seeing your plugs.

I think it was all me. I was pulling the inrichment handle up when I start the bike in the morning thinking it was a choke. I seen a video showing that it's not a choke. So I put the jet back in it an got some ngk plugs on the was. The bike ran good with very little decel pop. What y'all think?
