I agree no two are alike. I too have B R 2 into 2 and I hated the sound so I pulled out the baffles. We all know this tends to be bad for an S&S engine. What I did was to install thunder monster baffles which stop the reversion issue and I love the sound now. It's way more easy to cover up an issue with running jets that are too rich however if you would like the engine fine tuned find out which jets your setup runs best.I would wonder why then when I had the dealer install my BR pipes, that the pipes came with 31/76 jets to be installed? And it ran great. After I installed the 585 and S&S's dual runner, I could not adjust the carb to stop the popping on both accel and decel, I bumped up to 32/78 and it eliminated all the popping except for the occasional sneezing thru the carb at 50-55mph. According to their (S&S) website on carb setup, to eliminate the sneezing they suggested to bump the inter up, which I did and now I'm running 33/78 without any issues.
With the above stated, all carbs are different due to the tolerance of parts, and if the jets are held to a tolerance of +/-.0005 on the size hole you can have +/-.001 between jets of the same size, hence the air fuel mixture screw to be able to fine tune the carb to the motor.
Bottom line, no 2 are alike

I've been waiting to run across a dyno to see if or how much difference the programmable TH ignition makes. My seat of the pants dyno can't feel a difference.Best to dyno like I just posted. Will be doing my bike again in Laughlin by Speed Performance when I get my bored out carb back from xxx carbs. Proved air/fuel ratio

X10!So this is what I would do, if the bike is running good and not popping on accel or decel and it runs good. ride it for a tank or so and see what kind of gas mileage your getting. Just because your smelling gas it doesn't mean your running real rich unless your fowling plugs. And if your getting 30-35 mpg or more I would say your ok. I can smell gas on mine also but its running great and I'm not fowling out plugs, they are a little black at 1500-2000 miles but at $2 each I change them every year with my oil.
Raining like hell, no work today! Got to practice my PHB skills!Wait a minute it's not 3am wtf you doing here?
