Weird noise

Went and got the bike home, the noise is still or again there... obviously? Crank case is breathing heavily? After a 40 miles stint on highway the bike did blow blue smoke on idle for a while. Didn't do it again. Figured if it breathes oil mist into the carb it should blow some smoke once in the while. Went into fukit mode, figured if it breaks it will and took the last 90 miles at 95mph. No smoke on idle, no change in noise. The one way valve on breather seems to be working.
I'm not good enough mechanic to tear the engine down alone, nor do I have time to do it slowly. I have to go to Europe in 2 weeks... I think I just have to visit the local shop that used to be a Big Dog service. That is gonna cost me a shitload I suppose...

While riding I was thinking if the new compression releases somehow stick slightly open, remember last time I was in Daytona riding to Miami the innards of the rear one just fly off! Was thinking if breaking down somehow damager the head and valve doesn't seal properly. But how could there be about 190 compression then?
Was pushing the valves while riding, though the front moves more, now home not sure anymore... mind does tricks too...
My friend Heli lost her father this morning, that doesn't lighten my mood either.
Wife said she has understood the whole idea of Big Dogs is to go into a trip, the bike breaks down and you all are happy trying to fix them on the road... she thinks we are all weird. Have to admit she is quite right on that one.

Considering the shop put it on wrong wouldn't hurt to check that valve yourself or just go to NAPA and get a new one.

Yeah, the guy is in a bit bad shape, lost a leg and kidneys not working... he spends a lot of time in dialysis, and popping meds...
On the bright side he told the kidneys will start working and he will get a prosthesis .
Come to think of it, my problems are pretty small and I'm an idiot.

Bring it to Orlando Saturday the 8th at 10am. I'll tear it down in 45 minutes. You take the bike, I take the cylinders, pistons and heads back home.

P.S. Sorry to hear about your friend and her dad. Sad situation.
