Bike idles great, starts in idle just touching the button.. what harm does it do? Nothing? Mileage is good, I've done 160 miles on tank, didn't run out...
If your bike is running good as you say then there's nothing wrong with it. Every bike is different depends on your air cleaner and your pipes. I am running a.033 intermediate and an .078 and I am going up to a.036 and a .080 because I still have deceleration popping and that's a lean condition.

Checked the jets, since Bill is complaining about my backfire, and there was a touch of white residue on exhaust valve . 74 and 40, didn't expect those create lean mixture
You might want to increase your main jet a size or two most of our dogs run .076 or higher main jet but again it depends on your air cleaner setup and your pipes.

Must have been running 3k or higher and it was on main circuit.

3k is where I do most of cruising too anyways. These S&S really like that 2900-3300 RPM range. Really where it sings.

I have a lot popping too, but it only bothers BadDog Bill! and me sometimes. Maybe I try going bit smaller intermediate when "the works" is done... and bike is otherwise running like it should.
You can go down on your intermediate jet but that will cause an even leaner situation I would definitely increase your main jet if you lower your intermediate jet size.

Keep in mind.. We are only about 6 ft above sea level. That's thick air.

Check intake manifold and exhaust seals, since you have indications on the valve, and the popping, of a lean condition.

Then, address the jetting.

I have pretty normal set up,585 cam, shaved cylinders and empty VH big radius... lets wait what The Master says about my heads and valves on that combo...

I still have that 2011 stage 3 Ultra COW on my garage, friend wants to sell it. With this market and prices I have been starting to thinking if I should keep it. 11k miles (of those I rode 2300 this month). There is still some room for a beer cooler, coffee maker and a small TV on that thing.

We always whine about the low resale value of Dogs, that bike did cost about 40.000 on 2011, now it seems to be around 15.000!

Your right to wait to see the condition that your valves are in before you decide to change the jets. However With your setup I would try a .031 or .032 intermediate jet and a .078 main jet and I would install Big City Thunder Monster baffles 2 1/8 O.D. The baffles will help if not stop the deceleration popping on the V&H big radius. That's what stopped it on mine along with proper jetting.

Haha well the longer you keep it in your garage the cheaper it will be...couple more years and miles you will be able to give him 10

Yep! Buddy asked me to keep it until January... and use it as much I like. The problem is my garage is too small for 2 cars and 2 bikes... have to rent a place to keep it when I go to Europe and pack my cars in to garage... that will cost me $50 a month... he is paying insurance though .

It is funny, he is the kind if guy who has to have the fanciest shit, yet he is short and very fat with short legs and huge thighs (old swimmer). With Ultra his legs are so spread he can't really reach ground, so he doesn't use the bike... his ex left her Heritage into his garage so he is riding with that when he is in Florida... seems nobody is using their own bikes anymore.
