Update #2...took rear fender off left side ground wire was testing bad, really didn't see anything on that wire, red wire was pinched so I fixed that. Rested rear fender on tire and plugged in the lights. It works!!!!!! Bolt the rear fender on test again and works!!! Turn key off and put side panels on. Tested it and back to same thing! Messing around with the rear plug and where it goes to the power harness will get it to stop sometimes. When it does stop and I don't press any buttons and have a smoke, it just starts blinking again... I'm lost right now...

Well just unplugged everything with lights, tach, speedo, hand controls and still blinking. I can tell because the red light on the ehc is blinking

I'm just worried that if I buy a new rip kit gen 1 or 2, or DOC, or the one from Curtis that it will do the same thing

The blinker still blinks? Both?

I would say the short is between the rear harness and the unit itself.

Try unplugging the EHC and blowing some compressed air and then putting some dielectric grease in there.

First I want to say thank you to everyone for helping me with this couldn't do it without you, now....it seems that the rear harness was a fluke. The only thing I didn't check was the speed sensor connection and wire. I got to the plug and unplugged it, holy shit! The turn signals work!!! Started to inspect the wire and can't see any rub marks or anything wrong with it it looks good. Put some grease on and plugged it back in, turn key on and starts blinking.......as I reach for the plug and grab it the right turn signal stops blinking and they work! I turned the right turn signal off and leave the key on and walk away all of a sudden the right turn signal starts blinking again!!!!!! I wiggle the wires going to the power harness and it stops and the turn signals work great! I guess when I first unplugged the rear harness I must have moved the power harness wire bundle. I'm leaning towards the power harness is bad or the ehc is going. I will try to clean the power harness up and apply grease tomorrow to see if that's it. The question now is, can I buy a new power harness or do I have to buy a new rip, DOC, or one from wildsteedworks
Also so I'm saying this right, it is only the right turn signal that blinks when key is turned on

Thanks for posting that, I don't have any red lights on when this happens, only when I unplug the rear or front lights, then I get the red light for that light to blink, the other thing I found when they did work correctly was the left turn signal is activated the high beam indicator blinks with it, not the headlight itself just on the speedo light, this does not happen with right turn signal. But I did unplug the speedo and tach in my testing

I had similar issues with mine, "ghost" issues that made no sense. Checked all the wiring and replaced the LED's same deal. Purchased and installed Axel's EHC problem solved. Just my experience.

Another update, I called a friend to ask about checking wires if it wasn't broke but rubbed through and touching metal, he said to check with ohm meter like before but put one end to neg. battery or chasis ground and touch the pins with the other. If my meter goes to 0.00 then it's grounded. So I did this and checked a ground wire and goes to 0.00..... I am on the plug going up the backbone to the speedo/ tach I get good ground on black wire, I get no ground (meaning the meter does not go to 0.00) when checking the other wires in the plug expect the ORANGE wire. I get ground on that wire. Does anyone know if that wire is supposed to show ground? I will include a picture of the plug. Wire colors for plug are black, orange, violet, green, red, blue, brown, yellow

Keep looking!! thats fine. Oil sensor sends the ground to illuminate.

Haha..well that tells you problem isn't up top.

Try ohming out the rear harness like you did the tach. Should only ground out on the two black wires.

Yes I only get ground on 2 black wires, just to be sure I didn't miss anything I unplugged all backbone plugs, except key, also unplugged rear light plug and still blinks...
