My bike is going into Andrew Barnes shop Friday newwheels tires and baker open primary he is putting shinkos on couldn't manage to get a good Avon 300 tire so shinko it's gonna be Andrew says they are good so I'll trust his opinion he is the pro
I over-research everything. Mostly because of lack of trust and a little bit of boredom. Shinkos have been around for over 10 years and even make racing tires. I couldnt find a bad review on them based on quality or performance. To be honest, the name Shinko kinda reminds me of Cheng Shin tires. Which is funny.

I do know their drag tires are the best out there, have used them for years. :old2:

I raced on them back in the day when I raced super bikes before we picked up a michelin sponsor. Good tires for sure and the price point is unreal. I can't believe they don't make a 250 though? That's a popular tire for sure.

Nope, went to their website, can't find a 250.
Gotta go with their 240. Don't think they have it listed under cruisers

With that said I've never had a problem with Avon's especially the 250. The 300 has gave me fits it's a little more prone to wear and tire pressure is finicky, if I get above 38lbs it wears quickly down the middle. Taken me a couple tires to figure out the correct pressure.

I think Shannon ran the shinko and it fell apart on him in about 3kmiles.

Well that sucks, I was planning on getting Shinkos but just found they don't make a 250!
10 mm isn't much, that will be 5 mm per side. I usually run a 240, and tell everyone it's a 250. They don't know any different.
I'm runni9ng a Shinko on the front now, and it's wearing good. My last rear was a Shinko, they are soft and hold the road good, but when I went to BB&BBQ, it was about half gone, and the 6 hours I spent on interstate on the way home, it wore it flat in the center.
