I‘ve been doing some reading on the 422 series shocks and figured I should adjust my ride height and spring preload. Oddly tho, mine look different from what they have on the PS website. The barrels themselves look the same but I don’t have any ride hight adjustment at all. Are these not 422 series?
Also, the right one has a jambnut where the rod sticks out whereas the other one does not. I’m confused

Post some picture when you get a chance Joe. Someone will probably recognize what you have. They may even be the same as a Harley softail???

I’m not sure, but I’ll take a picture or two after work. All I can say is they look exactly like the 422. Just the ends aren’t adjustable and the left one doesn’t appear to have the 6 holes to put the tool for pre-load adjustment. Other than that they look exactly the same.

These are the ones on the 07 to 2016 Harley softail. Nothing like yours. Check jpcycles or Dennis kirk. Length and diameter is what they will need plus fastener sizes.

That looks like the Progressive Air Shocks (722) for a softail - they claim to be discontinued.

Yes! That’s them. Thank you. Now I can at least find instructions for them and maybe get new bushings. I’m surprised they aren’t listed in the service and owners manuals. There it shows different brands altogether.
Thank you so much

yea, those are sure different. I’m not looking to buy new ones, just trying to find what they actually are so I can locate instructions for proper adjustment.
Thank you

Yea, I found something online from the manufacturer but it seems odd. It says to adjust the pre load equally on both sides. Which is odd, since only one has a nut to turn. The one with the air lines going to it has none. Just (what appears to be) two black discs of which at least the front one has keyed surfaces machines on it.

The progressive air ride works a little differently than a normal air ride such as mine, the progressive shocks use air to lower the motorcycle not raise the motorcycle, progressive designed it this way so if the air shock failed it wouldn’t effect the ability to ride

I’m all good with that. From what I see, one is a shock, the other a dual air chamber, pressurized from both sides.
What I don’t get is the “adjust pre load equally on both” when the “shock” itself is the only thing of the two that appears to have an adjustment option whereas the air unit does not.

Probably these aren't the original shocks.

This is one thing I wondered too, specially since they don’t get mentioned in the manual.
It is exceedingly frustrating me to not be able to find out simple things about this bike. Even the “big dog is back” people can’t answer a simple email. Just plain maddening is what this all is.

Ok, I found the shocks, I still have them. This is suppose to be the instructions for them.
