Tried to get the pro tune software to run on my computer doesn't seem to want to sink up. My key gets really hot I replaced my coil cuz there was a crack in it thought I fixed the problem but it still shuts off. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What bike do you have? When does it shut off? Do you lose all electrical when it does? Give us as many details as you can. Could be a lot of things causing this but some details will help narrow it down

I have an 07 big dog bulldog fuel injected. Beginning of the season had a new stator solenoid and just recently replaced my coil cuz it had a crack in it I thought that was the problem still cuts off after about 10 minutes of running. My key right near the coil seems to get very hot and then it trips the breakers and shuts the bike off

Not abnormal for the key to get hot, mine both do too. So the circuit breakers actually trip when it shuts off?

You had the stator replaced, is that correct? Was the voltage regulator replaced at that time?

Yes both were replaced and I just replace the coil a week ago as soon as it gets hot it shuts off

ok shuts off when hot.

How long till it will start again?
Does it shut off sitting still getting hot or just riding?
Do you loose all electrical power, if so have you checked the breaker?
Are all battery connections good and tight (loose will draw more current)

Can start back up about 15 minutes, breaker resets itself. Shuts off as soon as it gets hot, riding or not. Everything is tight on battery. Something is tripping the breakers, not sure what.

Have you checked the socket for the headlight -- there were a number of problems with the original socket and many upgraded to the ceramic socket.

No I have not looked into that, not sure where it's located but I'm guessing under the tank somewhere or is it the plug that is right near the coil.

Headlight socket is inside the headlight bucket. Just pull the lense and bulb out and check to see if it's melted. Since you are popping the CB I am concerned about the voltage regulator overcharging. Let's see if we can get @knothead or @Mr. Wright to chime in on this. What kind of stator and voltage regulator did you put in it?

I'm not sure I had the shop do it, told them to order it through wild steed but I do know it was a 32 amp. Put probably 1,500 miles over the summer end bike week at Myrtle Beach probably 400 that weekend it's been running great. And then this started happening 3 weeks ago

I usually try to work on it myself a little but because of lack of time I had them do it. And now I'm trying to figure this out again and it's been 3 weeks of no riding

Ok that's good you got it from Curtis so we know it's a good quality one.

I had a similar issue with my bagger, it would shut off but would restart immediately after cycling the key switch. Mine ended up being the key switch. You can jumper the switch to see if that fixes it.

Since it's an EFI bike have you hooked Protune up to it to check trouble codes?

Went back and read the beginning and saw where you couldn't get protune synched up

if you are blowing the breaker I doubt it is the switch.
Have you measured the voltage at the battery when the bike is running?
I'd pull the headlight out first to check it. set screw in bottom, then ring will screw out.
Put fan in front of engine and start and let it run for twenty minutes -- does it do it then?

I've done so many things I think I have I thought it was like 13 I'll do it again when I get home cuz it starts so much better with the new coil, but as soon as it warms up after about 10 minutes shuts off, 15 minutes if I'm just letting it idle. Scared to take it out for a ride cuz then it always cuts out and I'm sitting somewhere for 15 minutes until the breaker resets. I'll check the headlight out here in about an hour get back with you hopefully it's not a pain in the ass to get the off

my thought is that it actually could be a bad circuit breaker.
I replace both breakers the 40 amp and the 25, could it be a thermostat or something. Just seems like after about 10-15 minutes when the bike gets hot it shuts off. Somebody else on this site said to check the headlight connections that they had some issues in the past going to go do that now

if you take on the road take an aerosal can of some innocuous with you -- invert it and you'll have a cool spray that you can use to isolate hot things (cool circuit breaker then try cooling other things).
