Maybe a break sensor problem?
Why changed the board? Brake light?
brake light sensor needs adjustment - set screw is in the handle fitting at handlebar side.
loose the small grub screw - adjust down / up sensor till it works and fix it .
soldering type you can hear a quiet noise (click).
tighten carefully.

I changed the board and sensor but I'm not sure what position I should put the sensor in , now I just ran it back down the hole in the handlebar

Turn the key on. Pull the brake lever until you feel pressure, then slide the sensor into the hole until the brake lights come on. Then tighten the set screw.
Follow this.

If you don't pull the brake lever first. You could push it in to far. Then when you use the brake it could break the switch.

How do you get the sensor out of the control? The connector on mine broke and I need to replace it. Looks like I’m going to have to remove and solder it.

That is part of the problem I'm having now
It came out when I had a little accident
And I'm not sure how to install it correctly
I know it works, I touched with a magnet
And my breaklights worked

The sencer goes in the hole but doesn't seem to go far enough, not sure if there's part of the old one still in there but I'll take the bottom part off tomorrow and that should tell me something
I'll update you when I do
