Have you checked you belt guard?Coming from the right side by the exhaust output
Is Your Zipper up when this happens?I think Sven is right. I think it’s the harmonics of the engine causing it. Took it to the shop and they said they have had a few bikes do it. Baffles or that lollipop bolt trick of Sven’s is the only thing that can be done. I ordered a baffle from RnB, I’ll post an update after installation.
Strange! I will look to see if they are in there. I have pretty much have given up on the chirp. I have tried torque cones, they made it go away almost completely but at the cost of 10 HP so they were taken out.I may have an answer to this "chirping" sound. I also may have answer to the great mystery of the purpose of the fiber washers under the coil cover. I just replaced the spark plug wires on my bike. It's a lot easier to change the plug wires if you remove the coil cover from the engine. After I did this and put everything back together, I noticed I was getting a chirping sound much like the OP. I couldn't figure out what it was. Then it hit me. I forgot to put the fiber washers back in. I took it apart and put the washers back in. Chirp has now disappeared. Maybe that is the purpose of those mysterious fiber washers.
I know you just had some engine work done by John. You may want to ask whoever put your engine together if they remember putting the fiber washers in. It may save you some trouble. Unfortunately for us guys with the prostreet bikes, removing the coil cover requires removing the tank. For you and me, just the left side tank.Strange! I will look to see if they are in there. I had the coil cover off myself a couple a weeks ago because of a snapped top mount bolt. I did forget to put them in, luckily I caught it before I put the tank back on but now I am wondering if I put them on the right side of the coil? I will be posting a update about the final build! It only does it when I let off in gear. Nothing on acceleration, just slowing down in gear. Any thoughts? ThanksOne of my K9's chirped when I started it. It was a head gasket leaking.
I will do it. ThanksTake a chunk of bar soap and rub the inside and outside EDGE of ur belt. See if this stops ur chirp.
The Primary belt, right?I will do it. Thanks
Drive belt. Do you have a open primary on the bike? The Primary belt, right?
