It's coming along Mr Ray!
With the new dakota and that new tight front end you will probably be feeling like you are driving a brand new ride!!
At 3:29 this morning that is what I am thinking too! :) It is going to be a good thing from what kind of turned into a sucky day on the side of the road Saturday afternoon. Beyond the fact that Camden is a special place for me to get to visit anytime for any reason. I tinker with carveing wood, and one of the things I recently started carving a liitle note I read and saved. "
"Taking the right path does not mean it will be easy, but when we are on the right path, God is with us!"
I believe that little statement ,and also believe God has His hands all over this situation! I did not go nuts Saturday when the wire plus give~up, and it died. I made a call, and then got it in a safe place to get loaded up on the trailer. At the very second I saw the truck and trailer coming, the car before stopped and the guy asked if he could help in any way. I asked if he wanted to help push the ole Scooter on the trailer. He was glad too! Ya'll kind of know the rest of the Story! Long time ago I heard an old preacher day, this was right after where I had worked for 25 years shut the doors 2008 September 18th, "Sometimes life sucks, but God is always good! Even then everything worked out for the better, this is headed in the same direction too for the better! :)

Got the handle bar bushings in but i had to fight the bolts out and chase the threads before going back together but all good now...i noticed when i took the speedo off the housing was buried against the bars... this is the 2nd ridgeback i have seen with the wrong speedometer housing bracket ...so i had in stock the one Ray needed to make it right....got all that on now and the new Dakota digital installed...

You can see in the pics the difference in brackets...the shorter brackets belong on chopper models

I got everything wired up and done under the seat...put his horn back on that he brought me...all systems are good electronically...im done for the night...hopefully Sunday i will get the fromt and rear wheel bearings changed and the front forks all rebuilt and take it for a ride...time will tell

Saturday is race day so got to get up early in the morning and head out for another 10,000 dollar race...hopefully we dont over power Puddin like last weekend...Russell put little to much power in it in the 2nd round and Puddin blew the tires off about 450 ft out, something that we hadnt done yet luckily but it was bound to happen....left side of the road was crap and couldnt handle the power...he learned from it20231006_213928.jpg

No need in that the wiring is fine, it could stand to be bigger wire without a doubt, but other than that the wiring is fine in these bikes..the stock ehc and wireplus system is and was the problem...also the way they wired the voltage regulator with a circuit breaker was dumb without a doubt..all it does is reset itself and pop reset itself again and pop till it either takes out the battery and ehc or both...fuse will.show a problem before it becomes a big problem
And none of that will happen if it's completely rewired. I had mine done years ago and I have had absolutely no problems.
I like simplicity. If I have wiring issues periodically or the brain farts, then I'm back to square one. R&R with the right equipment and it's corrected permanently. I have 2 fuses, thats it.
But to each his own.

Thank you for the picture of this Sticker. I think the idea I had turned out pretty good. It took about 30 minutes to do. When I was a kid I remember the old men that used to "Whiddle" with pocket knives. I always admired the talent they had making little things, it was a talent, they made it look easy. I admire the talent Knothead has on getting my ole"Scooter" like it should be, made it look easy, he knows his stuff, and I really appreciate it. There is no place I had rather it be at right now than in Camden with Knothead. I am retired and piddle in my little garage with whiddling like this little piece. Thank you all , H~man and everyone for getting me pointed towards Camden. Greatly Appreciated!A piece of cedar .jpg

To finish that off I'd do an epoxy resin fill, would make it really POP.
What cnc is that -- I have an Xcarve that I have to finish wiring up. I also have small 3018 desktop unit.

That cnc is a Onefinity Elite Journeyman . I have a smaller Mill Wright 19 x 19 bed, it does great, but the other seems a lot faster. I have been running the Mill Wright about 4 years now, just had the onefinity a few months. Keeps me thinking since retirment. :) Before I get old ! :)
