Late post but I have the German EHC and zero electrical problems. The factory wiring is actually very good, just need the EHC but if you want to spend money/time I'm sure the RIP kit is very good.
I have not changed any other parts out including the charging system, rotor, stator, or voltage regulator and it doesn't seem to be a problem (knock on wood). I would however ensure your connector pins are all straight and onbroken as per Mickmorris's post.

Well where it says attach file with the paperclip just below this box on the left side. If you touch that it will let you load a picture. Has anyone used this replacement EHC from Germany Elektronikbox.de? for 2005 - 2008 Big Dogs? I also need the EHC wiring Harness and am looking for a new replacement. If anyone has a link or website?

replaced my ehc with axels (electronicbox) ehc on my pit bull 06/07 carburated model.
plug and play - has some nice programmable gimmics.
easy to do and wihout problems.
