Im going to replace the pump, regulator and filter this week an see.
Depending on what vfi you have you should be able to use either a USB to c-type plug or a USB to mini plug but if it's a 9 pin serial port type you'll need a USB to 9 pin adapter type cable. Which you can find off of Amazon or ebay.
Hi Terry. Just got the 9 pin to usb cable on AmAzon. My labtop doesnt have a 9-pin port. Waiting on new pump, regulator and filter.

Any serial port cable will work.
The serial port to USB are very finicky however.

They work best on a serial port to serial port (old computer) interface.

Also, be careful who you take advice from, there is some bad advice and information being posted here.
My labtop doesnt have serial port. So i order an 9-pin to usb. Crossed my finge hope it works.

This is best, clean the tank thoroughly and replace the fuel line and clean the injectors too.

Remove the injector screens, clean and use a 9V battery to open the injectors and inject cleaner in both directions.

Absolutely!

However, even te OEM locked version has a decent amount of range (20%) which will cover most mods.
Not the ones I did. Lol. After air cleaner and pipes I was hitting the limit. That's when Curtis told me that the codes in the dtc was telling me I was over my 20 percent.

Surprised to hear that. Mine was fine for a pipe.

Yours must be running exceptionally well!

ummm no, over 2000 dollars later and my S&S protune mechanic cant get the tune, nor the bike to run right. I've changed air filters, pipes added a cam and bike will run ok for a couple of weeks then out of nowhere the check engine light just comes on, and I'll be having over heating issues, having knock sensor low voltage issues, having throttle position sensor issues, iac stepper motor issues, to lean, to rich, not idling right. So if its not right next week at Panama City then I'm done with this mechanic.

But I found the only S&S protune shop in the northeast in Rochester NY and once back from Panama City I'll be calling and talking to them about bringing the bike to them if I get a good feeling of them when I call.

I would talk to Josh. He is the expert on these EFI bikes. He told me he has changed out the S&S system to a dynojet system and it has solved all of the problems. Not cheap, but nothing ever is on these bikes.

The singular best thing I did to my EFI bike was change to E3 spark plugs.
I had a point where I could not go more than 300 miles without fouling out a set of champions to the point the bike didn't run right -- changed to E3 and the bike went 3000 miles before I found and fixed the issues I was having with the O2 sensors and some other crap.
Give them a try, at this point it's and easy swap and cheap campared to everything else you've done.

Sorry to hear that. All the components in the EFI system are robust, and rarely need replacing and or the cause of most issues.

Most to all of the issues I have witnessed are either with the wiring of the bike or the fuel system getting fouled with debris from tank, lines, and or sitting for so long.

First thing I would ensure is you have battery power (not key power) to the VFI.
if you are getting all those faults, I assure you those components are not bad, you are seeing voltage dropping out. Check the battery too.

If you are getting “bad sites”, go through the entire fuel system, from filter to injectors.

The pump, regulator, fuel line, filters are cheap, all for ~$200. once they get contaminated, they will never be the same, just replace them.

You can clean the injectors as I outlined previously, or send them out for cleaning.

Well I don't think its a fouled plug because running rich isn't an issue normally. Usually I'm running so lean the bike is overheating. My )2 sensors are almost solid white, my plugs are getting so hot the white part of the plug is turning black. This mechanic decided to take the auto tune off and just go with his straight tune. I had S&S make me a map for this bike with the mods I have done and he wouldn't even use it, he said the bike ran like crap with that map in it so he tweaked it he said, then I gave him the offical bigdog offroad close course tune and again he changed it to his way. Its not the bike or components, its the mechanic.
