The Metzler I have on my K9 has about the same distance between the belt and tire as the Cobra, maybe a little closer but does not rub. I've only put a couple hundred miles on the Metzler, but so far its been good.i'm on my 2nd cobra now,no seperation issues but wet traction sucks compared to the venom and i was getting about 12k each out of the venoms. i got 8k on the 1st cobra and it looks like the one i have now is only gonna make it 8k if im lucky. 300 tire. i may go with a metzler next, didnt they rub the belt though?
He has the 04, so a 250 rear.something about going from a 300 down to a 250, just doesn't sound as macho.
yea baby, that's the look I likeThe Metzler I purchased was the ME880. Here's a pic of what it looks like
was thinking the early RB had a 300 on it. my mistake. looked it up and verified 250. :2thumbs:He has the 04, so a 250 rear.
Dunlop makes a 250 as their biggest tire. I like the tread pattern and was considering the dunlop as well on my 04.
These are good things to hear!A bit over a year ago, I did some trading to a local dealer for a new Venom front tire he had just gotten in but customer didn't come and get it. I got the tire, mounted it up and within weeks the sidewall cracked just like your tire pictured above.
After taking it back to him, we looked up the manufacture date stamp on it and it was over 2 years prior to the install.
I installed Cobras on front and rear and very happy with them since. They are sticky, hook up very well, show no signs of wear yet and are great in the wet.
Those sidewall cracks are usually signs of a OLD dated tire that layed around in a warehouse.
My buddy had a Ironhorse for 3 years and went through 4 sets of Metzlers in under 10,000 miles.
No burnouts, just VERY poor wear patterns.
Good price. Cheaper than I can get them for, let alone sell them for. :loony:Metzeler ME880 Marathon XXL Rear Tire - Chaparral Motorsports
Just for a reference to a good price for the Metzeler, the website noted has the 300 tire for $299 with free shipping.
