M/C Down

Well I knew it was too good to be true. Okay the bike starts up and seems to be running good if I let go of the throttle it just shuts off.. There is 1 red light on the EHC not sure if that has shit to do with it cutting off. Could this be an adjustment on the idle cable/throttle cable? HELP, HELP

NEXT... Bike now will not even turn over!!! I am leaning towards a battery problem but why would the bike shut off with a bad or low battery. Battery is on the charger, I will try again later to see if that may be an issue. GOD this is killing me!!!

Okay, took the battery off charge tried to start and got a loud pop out of the pipes tried again it started right up. Now maybe thinking bad battery and idle cable not adjusted properly???? it runs fine as long as i am turning the throttle open a little. any suggestions??

throttle cables are a bitch to adjust. just keep working with it until you have just a touch of slack in each cable. did the place you took the carb to mess with the idle screw?

yes, I am going to adjust the idle screw today. got up this morning and started getting into the bike. The cables are on right. Now Time to check the carb.

Hey Paul...your almost there buddy
did you check your idle metering screw (brass one on top of carb) set it a about 1-1/2 turns out, to just get it in the ball park. there is lots of good post on carb adjustments on the site, do a search....
narrow37 is right the cables are a bitch...just keep working it

Bill, I am looking at the carb adjustment post as we speak, I am really leaning towards that and maybe a battery issue. Carb 1st going to fire it up here in a few. can't wait until I can put this thread to sleep. Thanks again

okay, started the bike up warmed it up and adjusted the idle screw good to go! bike sounds and is running good. I would really like to retire this thread I am going to take it for a test run and see what happens hopefully no more post on this. Again thank you so much to everyone who pitched in I learned a lot during the process.
