Hello, Oscar Maldonado I don't want to cause a panic but the ultra slashed pipes that you are going to install on your bike may cause the stud on the rear cylinder to break. They are free floating and the vibration from the engine could cause the stud to break.I have a short set of pipes on my chopper and the vibration caused a stud on the rear cylinder of mine to break. I replaced the stud and made a short bracket running from the bolt that holds the pipes together to the transmission. No problems now... hope this info. will help
Thanks for the heads up:2thumbs: . I'm still in the market for some new pipes. Don't know exactly what I'm gonna do. I may have to go custom. Need to be different.

I re-installed my stock kerker 2-1 pipes today , and i'm happy as shit. I forgot how good they sound and how well they perform. Gonna keep em on for awhile.

Oh yeah , they look good too !

Cobra,
I have a set on my 02 Pitbull. Just ordered the Softail ones and reversed the bracket in order to fit the 250 tire. No problems with them and they have been on since late 03.
Salty,

Are those Vance & Hines? Or some other make? I called V&H and they said they had nothing for a 2003 BDM Chopper.

I'm also looking at the Samson Big Gun Shorty's too, but they may rob some power and torque. If I can get the optional baffles from the Shorty's to match the baffling and back pressure on the Kerker 2-into-1 (which I have now) I'd opt for the Shorty's.

Thanks for the info.

The problem is that Big House and I think Seat already had this idea...

Thanks Front Runner...

They are Vance & Hines. Got them when they were first out and just ordered them for a softail (pre-99). You will need a custom bracked. I was able to bolt mine on the inside of the frame mounts with some adjustment to the supplied bracket.

It's funny. I have the 2003 BDM Chopper and I also have a 2002 Harley Heritage Classic Softail. The mounting bungs on the frame on each bike are 2" apart. Rough measurement from the frame mount to the bolts on the Cylinder head are very close, if not the same. I'm thinking that any exhaust for a Harley Softail 2002 may work on the Chopper. Maybe the studs are different measurements, I haven't checked that yet.

Not sure what I'm going to do. I like the Samson Shortys and I like the V&H big radius, if it still allows the passenger peg to be there. I guess I better do more thinking on what I want. The Kerker 2-into-1 that I have now is a great performer. But I like the looks of the Shorty's.

Time will tell. I hate to mess with success and I've go a good performer now.

My stock pipe fit on the 97 Bad Boy that Harley made with all my brackets. All we did was remove the heat shelds, powder coat pipes black, remove baffal and cut down the cone about 12 inches. Pipes are wrapped to keep the heat down. This setup looks great on the bike since it is all black.

Looking good there Mario, how did you make out with the bracket?
Not too good. I went to Blowes and picked up some supplied to mirror yours. I got some 1' shrink tube and put it around the 1 inch wide steel flange I made so it would not mark the frame. When I went to attach the C clamp to the frame I saw there is not enough room inbetween the oil tank and the motor mount to do it. I have the piece from the exhaust to the frame. Now I just need to reconfigure how I'm going to mount it.

Thanks for your help!!!
