Mine will be between 15 and 16 inches tall...have to measure it when it comes back from Browns where it is being chromed.

I have the 12 inch on my Mastiff. In my opinion, the shorter sissy/bitch bars look better on the prostreet models while the chopper models scream for the 18 inch bars

I think the same thing. I have a old Husky and i want a small bar with a pad.

I have a 18" on my 06 k-9, I have both the smaller big dog bag for everyday, and the large one that comes with the bag for sleeping bag or more stuff, I drilled small hole in the metal backing plate for the back rest and installed two screws one on each side to whole it up. When I put the bag on I can used the straps to hold the bag off the fender. without the screw in backing plate on back rest the weight will pull it down and you end up on your fender. I have been on several trips and this it working good. of course you have to drill and tap the holes and I used chrome screw just like the ones on the backing plate but much shorter only when about 1/2 way into sissy bar.

I have the 18" sissy bar and luggage rack attachment on my K-9. These photos show how I attach my Big Dog bag using simple foam pipe insulating sleeving to make the bag fit more firm. The bag is sitting on a Big Dog pillon pad. I'm new to the Big Dog so I'm still experimenting with what works best.

I purchased a 12" bar for the 07 Bulldog. The passenger just needed something to hold onto while adjusting themselves on the passenger pillion seat. I'm having Seatmaker do an Ostrich leather pad.

The wife says I have to get one for her :argue: Occasional ride, trying to decide on the 12 or 18 inch. Can you hang the travel bag on the 12 inch bar? Unless Im on a trip that reqiuires a bag or The boss is on the back, It will not be on the bike, as I dont really care for the looks. If anyone has pics that would be great.
Guess you have figured the 18" is best for the choppers and 12" for the pro-streets!! the travel bag works well on both. Personally I think the 18" bar looks much better on a K9 than a Mastiff.
