Ok, I just discovered this today and can't find any related topics on the forum so I figured I should post it.
I needed to replace the stock ignition switch in my 04 chopper DT and found a lot of posts about using Sportster switches and having to possibly break out the grinder to get a good fit ...well, screw that!
While pondering what I was going to do I came across a couple parts unlimited switches, looked on ebay, in the local parts stores etc...etc...and on and on with not much luck finding anything that wouldn't require modification of some kind.
Until I was wandering through the local Orschelns, (its a farm store) looking over their automotive section I came across a perfect looking switch! It was about the right size, had two wires and an all metal body. (not like the cheap plastic BD stock ignition) I paid $13.49 for it and I'm telling you guys no lie, if I had made the thing myself I couldn't have made it fit any more perfectly! I swear it was as if BD had this little switch in mind when they built the bike! It actually fits better that the stock ignition! I hooked it up and it's like a rock, works like a champ.
The switch is made by a company called Calco, its part number C63083 . It is originally made to fit most FORD MODELS 1939-1964!!
You can Google Calco C63083 and it'll bring up the link to orschelns farm and home.
I don't know if it fits other Bds but for 13 bucks? It's worth a try!
