Docs esc is available from his website deadonecustoms.com & t he rip kit I think Curtis has at wildsteedworx.com both are less than 800 I believe. & you can find some stock ehcs floating around if you just want to replace it with a stock one. I've got 70k miles on my stock ehc in our ridgeback. If you call either of those guys they will help you out with getting back up and running!
Would you happen to have a spare EHC for a 2007 K9?

Yes, it will be below 300,-. It´s almost similar to my D-Box ( http://www.elektronikbox.de/ebox_d_uk.xhtml ) what cost 179,- Euro. This is about 205,- USD. I attach the manual of the D - Box for your info. The EHC replacement just have 2 additional highside switches and the 2 d-sub connectors plus a few additional parts compare to the D what cost not the world. The microcontroller and the software are the same.

However, pls. give me 2 weeks more for finish and testing everything before I´ll feel that everything is fine.

All the best!

At a 1/3 of the price of the other replacements..if it all works out, I see you selling a lot of those. Looks good.

Oh well there goes the Wire-Plus, RIP the BDM Electrical Retrofit Kit and whatever else is out there. Maybe this will work who knows. Until my Wire-Plus quits I will stay with what I have, I have the BDM Electrical Retrofit Kit as a back up. When that goes, I'll probably be to old to ride the dog :oldlaugh: :oldlaugh: that is why I have the 2013 Tri-Glide just in case. The Tri-Glide had plenty of storage just in case by that time I am using Depends :oldhardlaugh: :oldhardlaugh:

Hi Carlos,

Thanks for the info. I have seen several nice bikes since I´m in this forum. I like the styling of the (most) BD and I think that the BD company made something better compare to HD.I´ll looking to sell one of my "old ion" bikes this year and change it against a BD toy...

Hi Curtis,

"The D - Box was developed for an installation in show bikes and racing bikes. It should be installed by professional well
trained engineers only." ( ...it´s just a bit blabla in the manual in order to meet the funny law here in Germany and Europe )

Have fun!

All the best!

Just curious, but will this work like the wires plus where the on/off and the high/low buttons do the same function or like the newer ones that are retrofitted to make the on button only turn on the bike and off only turn off the bike same with the high beam and low beam buttons? Also will there be an air ride option?
Thank you

Hi Joe,

Yes, I have ignored the air ride option in the first version yet. How is it controlled? There are just 2 x 12 Volt outputs from the original EHC to the compressor and the relief valve but I haven´t found an additional button for the control of these 2 parts in the schematic. Is it a push button combination? Does it makes sense to add a small board with 2 highside switches for this function in the box as option? How many bikes have the Air Ride option? What is your opinion?

For the control of the push buttons in the circuit I made a bridge between B27 and B44 what control a press on the RUN and OFF button and a bridge between B25 and B42 what control a press on the HIGH and LOW BEAM button. So, you have on both sides 2 buttons what have the same function. For my own taste there is no need for 2 buttons for the control but I don´t know if it is the best and most flexible way.

By the way, you can adjust the software settings of the EHC replacement in a way that there you can use only 1 button for Start / Stop. In this setting the EHC replacement will switch on the ignition and start the engine when you press the button. A second press on the button will switch off the ignition for 3 seconds what is always enough to switch off the bike. A change of the settings will cost you 30 seconds of your time and no programming skills or a pc. Just press the HORN button and switch on the ignition key switch while holding the HORN button and you are in the setup menu. Now you can make different settings by pressing the LEFT or RIGHT button. I attach the manual. You´ll find the different possible settings on page 2 of the manual.

All the best!

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the info. Do you have a schematic of the wiring from your bike? The female connectors are availabe without problems and an change against the other connetors is no problem if the wiring is compatible and there is no motor control inside. Pls. send it to info@elektronikbox.de if available.

Axel, it is combination if I remember right air ride came out factory on the 2005 Bulldog and was an option after that for the rest of the big dog line up, that were softails. To control the air ride , you push the start button before hitting the on button this allows the high and low beam to control the compressor and the dump valve then when you hit the on button it goes back to controlling the light. After the bike is started you can hit the start button and it makes the high low go back to controlling the air ride till you hit the on button again and resets, that is how the factory EHC works the after market kits do it a little bit different but I am not exactly sure how the controls on these work.
Thanks Joe

Hi Joe,

Thanks for the good info. I think I´ll make an optional board what can connected to the main board when the basic functions are fine. In the box is a bit space for a small additional board anyway. This might be the easiest way. A push combination of 2 buttons is easy to realize.

However, I´ll have an appointment with a BD workshop this Saturday and we´ll test the board in a bike. I´ll keep you inform.

All the best!
