Yes, I forgot: There are 2 x 6mm threaded nuts in the botton side. Hovwever, the screw distance is not the same compare to the original due to the smaller size of the box. The screw distance is 79mm. I choosed it cause I want to clamp the board holder inside between threaded nut and wall, what fit exact between it.

You can see inside the white acyl glue what close the hole against the resin.

All the best!

I just received my RIP replacement for the WirePlus ECM (which lasted less that 2 yrs).
So...like i removed all wires from the Chopper back bone. And I don't see how I can safely get the
new RIP connectors and cable into this hollow frame w/o damaging the connectors. This is like trying the get 10lbs into a 1lb baggy!
I must be missing some secret. Any suggesitons?

Much thanks

Just an update from my side:

I made an interesting test with the potting material yesterday. I potted one EHC 2004 board with the epoxy resin without the black paint what resulted in a clear box (pic 1). Then I flooded the top of the box with red paint in combination with iron 3 chloride, what is an acid and destroys copper on a board. Then I put the EHC on a shaker for 10 hours (pic 2). Then I cutted the plastic housing, removed it and cleaned the rest from the red paint. The result is pic 3 (...beside of an almost red desk in my workshop ;-)).

The epoxyd connection to the board outside to the walls is ok but the epoxy don´t stick good to the socket and the red paint was rin between socket and board what could indicate that there was a bit oil on the connector and still left over parts of solder paste on the board what stick not good to the epoxyd . Even the cables sticks better to the epoxyd than the connector :-(

So, I will use pcb cleaner for the next try and I hope that the new potting compound (what I hope to get tomorrow) and a clean board and D-Sub will give a better connection and reduce the water problem.

I strongly believe that the connection to the socket was the main problem with the original EHC. Even a little bit oil or dust on the socket will follow to a problem after a few years, cause the resin will not stick to an oily or a bit dirty surface. The water will always find it´s way...

I´ll keep you inform.

All the best!

... I just got the new potting compound and already potted one more EHC 2004. I have solder the cables from the down side of the board, what looks a bit better in my opinion. I´ll ink and destroy the EHC tomorrow ;-)

...Just an update:

The new potting compound is much better (...and hell expensive as well). There was no red color in the EHC after 3 hours on the shaker. So, there was no need to destroy the EHC :)

However, I just fix and test the first small serie. I will test the EFI version with "my local dealer" on Saturday and I promised to give some EHC to forum members for a reduced price. I´ll contact these members this Sunday or Monday when everything is tested and fine.

Thanks to all for the comments, suggestions and the very friendly support. You helped me to finish the EHC devices. By the way, I already are "in love" to BD and will save my money for a Ridgeback...

All the best and let´s keep in touch!
