Best battery

My battery is a few years older and it will not hold a charge so it is time for a new one. What are your opinions on the best one on the market now?
My Bike has always been a tough starting bike. Batteries were things I replaced once a year (if not more).
I put in a Duracell 20 HL-BS AGM, w/ 2 year warranty.
My bike NOW Starts like a champ. Strong, fast turnover on the engine--fires up immediately with no hesitation.
And most important, purchased locally. Amazing difference from the others mentioned that I tried.

I agree with Eric, tried a few different batteries including braille and for the money my opinion is that deka is best bet. I bought mine off ebay for $85 shipped, only a month old when it arrived.
Are these Deka batteries ready to go, or do they need the acid put in?? Thanks!

I'm using the Duracell as well and it runs like a champ -- I did kill one, my fault, as I left the key on for 2 days. After that not enough cca left -- it was replaced in warranty with no questions.
Only place I've found that had 2yr warranty on Duracell was Batteries and Bulbs
As far as I can tell, the Duracell is really a Deka.

Batteries and Bulbs -- 10% discount if you order online and pickup in store, plus there is a $10 rebate from Duracell right now and if you use Rakuten https://go.ebat.es/NJBIGM?eeid=45830 you can get another 3% cash back (have to sign up with Rakuten -- please use my link -- I get bonus if you do. You'll get cash back at most online stores, 1% to 10% on average -- hey it all adds up.)

Duracell’s are typically Deka. Look for “Penn manufacturing” on the back.

Batteries plug has a couple of versions, Deka is their better one. Again just check for Penn.

Batteries Plus, find one local—2 year local warranty, if you have any issue for 2 years, no questions exchange. Reasonable (under $100) and I’ve had no issues. Went through 3 other batteries before I found these guys. Spent more money for less warranty type batteries. Don’t ever order a battery!!!!!!

I'm not loyal to any certain brand. I would probably buy any major name brand if I got a good deal. With that said, I am impressed with my Yuasa. It will be 8 years old this summer. I took it off the tender last week and it fired right up.

I went with the lithium battery this time around. Crazy power and it’s so light you can balance it on your finger tip!

Might I ask which brand?
Check all the data on it -- I had one that didn't like being cold -- needed to turn the bike on and let it sit with lights on for a minute or two to get the chemical reaction "warmed" up then it would crank.

Ive gone through countless batteries over the years. I finally bought a Lithium ion battery (MMG-6) Jan 2019 and have had no problems. Its 420cca and is a little smaller than our lead acid is. It has 4 posts. I laid mine down as I want to build a seatpan. Never been on a Tender since the purchase. I highly recommend it.

I’ll get the info for you when I get home. Sorry for the delay.

Same one coolbreezin bought.

Wanted to add I have went through 2 throttle x batteries and after reading through the post on here it may have been what fried the electrical system on the bbc
Never again !

Knows some things
I believe it was the Throttle X battery that I posted a warning about a while back. Had two bikes come through my shop, that they had just put that battery in, and they shorted out and took the EHC with it.

Maybe Shorai, that is considered as one of the better lithium battery manufacturers knows something about the Big Dog VRs or our EHC weaknesses...

Those Lithium batteries are a bit sensitive with charging current.... hence the need for a special charger...

Recently purchased a Duracell battery at "Batteries & Bulbs". $118.95 with a TWO year no questions asked warranty. They supposedly have stores in numerous states, if it takes a dump while traveling no receipt necessary, just your phone number. Seems like a good deal to me.
