Did you check spark at both plugs? I have seen bad coils do weird stuff. I believe my older HD has that Altima unit works well.

That's not what i'm seeing, that's why I need a clearer picture of the settings and and a picture of the coil, unless you know the difference between a duel and single fire coil

Let the Big Dawg eat !
That was just a best guess based on what I could see...by no means was I stating it as fact...sorry if I caused any confusion.

while you have out the wd40, spray some at the jug end of the intake and see if it dies on you. thinking maybe a big air leak in the gasket. don't hold me to that.

Just to clarify the matter in case my pics are still crap,
Sw1 = down position
Sw2 = up. “
Sw3 = down. “
Sw4 = up. “
Sw5 = down. “
Sw6 = up. “

I meant the other side of the coil, but just look. Your switches are right if you have 3 small wires going to the coil. If there is only two, flip#6 switch down.

Just went back and read through this again. It is possible something is plugged up in the carb, but I'm still thinking that ignition mod. Mark where it is at, and take the two screws out, and lets see if anything is loose back there. Just in case you don't have the directions for that unit, here it is.

Reset the timing, and lets go from there.

Ok, re done the static timing, no difference!?, just to be sure is there an easy way of confirming your on the compression strike on these engines or should I whip the front rocker cover off?

Do me a favor and set switch 6 down to off. For a dual fire. Never mind. Do not do this.

Sorry DO NOT Set switch 6 off.
I just looked at the PDF. Again it is wired for a single fire.
Looks like it might be time to Change parts out? Do you have other bike you can move the coil to?
If so try that if other bike runs good then buy ignition.

you have the timing retarded way too much. loosen the stand off screws and turn the unit bout a quarter inch clock wise and try it.. Im sure it does flip over easy when you start the engine with it retarded like that, it will also give you that flat off idle no rev.
