Low Down Chop Shop
Well, I went for a ride tonight for the first time since last weekend when hell broke loose on my bike. Last week I was going down the highway and the backbone started vibrating real bad, so I pulled over and the coil mount/motor mount bolt was loose. Babied it home and got that all snugged as a bug but it still has a vibration in it after going over everything real well.
Tonight when at a stop with the clutch in and in gear it had a odd vibration in it. When I got home I tried something in the garage before shutting the bike down. I left it in first, front brake on tight and gave it some RPM and started slipping the clutch to put a hard load on it. after doing it for about 10 seconds I stopped. With the bike in gear and the clutch in, it was all I could do to keep the bike from wanting to go through the wall. It took all I had to get it into neutral. I think that either the carrier may have cracked and started vibrating and that i turn loosened the motor mount bolt or the stress from the vibration of the motor mount coming loose, cracked the carrier?
I have a feeling the carrier for the clutch is broke/cracked, but I haven't pulled it apart yet. That is my next project.
Does this sound about right to someone who has been through this issue? :bang:
Thanks,
Jake
